Cartoon Joker! He's the one I mainly grew up with from watching Batman: The Animated Series. That and Mark Hamill is Joker when it comes to the cartoon version.
The cartoon version is very good... I mean, it's the true Joker and Mark Hammill does a terrific job portraying the Joker's voice (I can't wait for Arkham City to be out in the stores so I can hear him one last time as the Joker). As for the live-action version... Jack Nicholson because it was his version that shaped the Joker as we know him in the comic books. Heath Ledger's version is just too extreme to be a great portrayal of the Joker... I mean, he does everything, except making us laugh, and that's part of what the Joker does, he makes us laugh, while he's torturing and killing people... that's why I believe that his version of the character will never be fully accepted by the true fans of Batman (unless, DC decides to come up with something similar to Ultimate Marvel Universe, where the Joker resembles Ledger's version of the Joer, and I don't think they are willing to do that).
Oh, and the for the record (and I know a lot of people are going to hate me for what I am about to say here, but I have to say it)... Ledger only won the Academy Award because he commited suicide, because if he had not done that, he would have never been nominated for the Oscar in the first place.
